Dholera Village Records

What the 22 villages inside the Dholera project area actually have today: schools, health centres, water, power and roads. Every figure carries its own date.

Getting around

Post office and PIN code

Every form asks for a PIN code and it is oddly hard to find one for a village this small. Here is the PIN code of each of the 22 Dholera villages, and what postal service each one had.

The other twenty do not have one.

The smaller counter that handles most village post.

Three PIN codes for twenty-two villages

Anything official that arrives here arrives through one of three PIN codes. The census records which one belongs to each village, and that is genuinely useful information, because a PIN code is the first thing every form asks for and it is surprisingly hard to find for a village this small.

On the postal service itself, only 2 of the 22 villages had a full post office and 14 had a sub post office. A private courier reached two.

What this table cannot tell you It cannot be used as a delivery address. A PIN code narrows a letter to a postal area, and in a village that is only the start of finding a house.

What this table cannot tell you It cannot confirm the PIN code is still correct. PIN codes are reorganised from time to time by the postal department and this one was recorded in 2011. Check it against the postal department's own finder before you print it on anything that matters.

One warning that applies to this whole page. The census amenity columns describe 2009, not 2026. Nothing built in the Dholera region after 2009 is in them, and an absence here is not proof of an absence on the ground today. It is proof that the last national survey of these villages did not find one.
