How many people live here

Every other page on this site is about services. This one is about the households those services have to reach: how many people, in how many homes, in which of the 22 villages.

How many people this is really about

The 22 villages held 38,897 people in 7,062 households when the census counted them in 2011. That is roughly the population of a small town, spread across 879 square kilometres of notified land.

The spread between villages is wide. Hebatpur is the largest at 6,339 people and Bhimtalav the smallest at 122. That matters when you read any other page on this site, because a service that exists in fifteen of the 22 villages may still be missing from where most of the people actually live.

One vintage warning. These counts are from the 2011 enumeration, while the amenity columns used on the rest of the site describe 2009. The two sit inside the same publication and are still two different years. This register keeps them in separate columns and never adds them together.

What this table cannot tell you It cannot tell you the population today. This is the 2011 enumeration and there has been no census since. Any 2026 population figure for these villages that you see anywhere is an estimate, and this register does not make estimates.

What is missing from this page, and why

There is no literacy figure, no worker or occupation breakdown and no age or religion split here. Those live in a different census product, the Primary Census Abstract, which is not in the workbook this site was built from. Rather than borrow them from a secondary source of unknown accuracy, the register leaves them out and says so.
