The 22 notified villages send their children, their patients and their produce to the villages next door. This page prints those neighbours, and one comparison that is hard to look away from.

Why the neighbours are on this site at all

When a village here has no secondary school, the census names the place its children go to instead. Those places are mostly these villages and the towns beyond them. So the notified 22 cannot really be understood on their own.

The extraction behind this site covers 72 census villages: the 50 below plus the notified 22. That is every village of Dhandhuka taluka as the 2011 census drew it, plus the three Barwala villages that fall inside the region boundary.

One number stands out. Treated tap water is recorded in 0 of these 50 neighbouring villages, against zero of the notified 22. Whatever else the notification did, it did not select the better-served villages.

What this table cannot tell you It cannot tell you which of these villages is inside present-day Dholera taluka. That taluka was created after the census and no official list of its villages was found in any source used here. The only boundary this register applies is the 2009 notification list of 22.

What this list is not

It is not a list of villages inside Dholera taluka today, and it should not be quoted as one. It is the census taluka of 2011, which is a different thing with the same kind of name. The 22 notified villages have their own pages on this site. These 50 do not, because the notification is the boundary this register works to.
